Marin Academy sits right on the neighborhood’s south boundary line, while other community amenities near Forbes include a great mix of restaurants, cafes, shopping, and various other commercial development along 2nd Street and 4th Street in San Rafael. Located immediately to the east of the neighborhood is Mountain Park and Boyd Memorial Park, which don’t exactly provide many outdoor recreational opportunities but still give San Rafael's Fobes neighborhood a little separation from other residential and commercial development in the area.
