NICASIO, CA REAL ESTATE AT A GLANCE

Although Nicasio is one of the smallest communities in Marin County, real estate here is likely much more impressive than you may think. Homes often include an abundance of land and open space, and most are also quite large as well, providing future home owners more than enough living space to feel comfortable. And because of its rural location, there’s also almost always opportunities available to purchase land in Nicasio, which could be an attractive option for buyers wanting new construction. Because of so much land that often comes with most home listings in Nicasio, look for prices to start over $1 million. And for larger homes with features like a swimming pool or horse stables, don’t be surprised if listing prices exceed $5 or $6 million.

WHERE NICASIO, CA IS LOCATED

Unlike most Marin County communities, which generally all sit alongside Highway 1 or Highway 101, getting to and from Nicasio isn’t quite as easy. Located about 8 miles west of Novato and about 4 miles east of Tocaloma, Nicasio is really only accessible via Nicasio Valley Road, which intersects with Sir Frances Drake Blvd to the south and Point Reyes-Petaluma Road to the north. Downtown Nicasio is rather sleepy and mainly consists of a post office, a small cafe, and the local fire department. There’s also a park right in the center of town as well, which features a baseball diamond and is generally the primary gathering spot whenever local events and fairs take place.

THE QUIET, RURAL SETTING OF NICASIO, CA

While not many people call Nicasio home, the area is still very well-known for its gently rolling hills and its relaxed country setting that will undoubtedly attract home buyers looking for a tranquil and serene place to live. Additionally, Nicasio is also home to a major man-made landmark, the Nicasio Reservoir, which only adds to the incredible ambiance this amazing part of Marin County is known for.
