It’s estimated that around 260,000 people live in Marin County today, and outside of San Rafael, which acts as the county seat, most cities and towns in the area feature a classic small town look and feel that often includes a bustling “main street,” and an overall sense of community that you just don’t capture in a much larger city. The housing landscape throughout much of Marin County can generally be classified as suburban, and single-family homes here tend to dominate the market. Mid-century modern homes are also incredibly prominent throughout Marin County, and Eichler homes continue to be some of the most sought-after properties in just about any Marin County community. Keeping in mind that housing statistics are always fluctuating, the bulk of Marin County homes for sale will fall somewhere between $1 and $2 million, but the market here also has its fair share of grand estates and hillside mansions that jump up into the $20 to $30 million price range too.
