I am the Broker and co-founder of Bay Area Modern Real Estate and it's related family of companies which include Marin Modern Real Estate, East Bay Modern Real Estate, San Francisco Modern Real Estate, Wine Country Modern Real Estate and Gold Country Modern Real Estate.

Born in Japan and raised in the Midwest, my professional career began in the hyper-competitive pharmaceutical and medical device industry where I quickly built a strong track-record of success in various capacities including sales, sales management, marketing, business development and executive management. My contributions and accomplishments led to several promotions (and corporate relocations!) including moves to Chicago, St. Louis, Princeton, Philadelphia and finally the San Francisco Bay Area.

With more than 25 years of domestic and international business experience garnered throughout my career at both Fortune 100 and startup companies, I enjoy providing leadership, marketing expertise and business acumen to our modern family of real estate companies.

Beyond my passion for modern real estate and architecture that I share with with my wife and co-founder Renee Adelmann, I am equally passionate about building a progressive, hip and modern-minded real estate brokerage committed to the success of our company's clients & agents.

How long have you called the Bay Area / Marin County home?

I've proudly called Marin County home since 2004.   Renee and I moved here from the city of San Francisco soon after the birth of our son.    

Candidly I thought it was going to be somewhat of a difficult move since I view myself as more of a city person however I was quickly hooked on the area once we were settled.

How long have you been a Realtor in the Bay Area / Marin County and what (real estate related) accomplishments are you most proud of?

I've been a licensed real estate agent since 2006 and a licensed real estate broker since 2007.

I'm most proud of building a fabulous and customer-focused real estate team & company whose growth has signficantly outpaced the market every year since our inception.    Best of all, our growth has been purely organic and has not come as a result of an acquisition, dramatic headcount expansion, or by opportunistically riding the foreclosure and short sale wave or relying on third party websites or national real estate portals with no real ties to our local community for paid business referrals and leads.

I'm also extremely proud of the amazing testimonials we as a company receive from our agents; the majority of which have a tremendous amount of experience in the industry and have worked for other local real estate brokerages prior to joining our firm.

Sell us.  Why Marin County?

Truthfully it doesn't take much selling once someone has spent even a brief period of time in Marin County.  While opinions may vary, I believe we have perfect weather and the natural beauty of our county is hard to beat - rolling hills & vistas, the Bay, the Pacific Ocean and more.   Best of all, while Marin County looks rather large when eyeballing the area on a map, the reality is that of the 520 square miles that make up Marin County, more than 70% of the land in the county is protected and will never be developed.  I think most residents of Marin County appreciate the open space and lack of 'urban sprawl', even if it means higher real estate prices given the limited supply of new housing and lack of large scale development.

Beyond the fantastic weather and outdoors, I also appreciate the laid back vibe of Marin, the excellent schools, as well as the proximity our county offers to the city of San Francisco, wine country and more.  

Give it up.  Where is your favorite secret (or not so secret) destination in Marin County?

Fortunately I don't have to go to far to enjoy the destination - the hills of Lucas Valley.  I think our dog would agree with me since she practically puts the leash on herself and blocks the frontdoor since she doesn't want me to leave the house without taking her on a scenic walk.

When it comes to dining, it's got to be Marinitas in San Anselmo.  That said, I'm also a sucker for Pico Pizzeria in Larkspur, the Buckeye Roadhouse in Sausalito, and of course Sam's Anchor Cafe in Tiburon...it's hard to beat relaxing, eating and drinking on their deck on a beautiful sunny day!

I'm usually working!   Between bouts of working and limited sleep, I enjoy global travel and exploring new countries and cultures with my family.   I'm also a huge ice hockey fan - Go Sharks!
